Happy 50th Anniversary Paul and Phyllis Morton!

Paul and Phyllis Morton recently celebrated 50 years of marriage with their family and some of their closest friends. The celebration took place at the San Antonio Country Club on December 28, 2025, and the venue was still beautifully decorated for the holiday season.

They were married on December 20, 1973, and over the course of their marriage, they raised three beautiful daughters: Abigail, Amy, and Anna. All three daughters were present with their spouses and children, and each spoke lovingly about the profound influence Paul and Phyllis have had on their own marriages and families.

The guests were also treated to a touching video slideshow of treasured photos spanning their marriage and family life. Marilyn and I particularly enjoyed looking through their wedding photo album and seeing Phyllis’s wedding dress, which was also on display. Her gown had been passed down to her daughters and worn by at least one of them in her own wedding. It was very moving and beautiful to witness this tradition continuing through the generations.

Many of the guests were connected through the couple's church family, work family, or shared passion for marriage ministry (re|engage, CMDA) and Celebrate Recovery groups.

After the daughters' testimonies, Paul and Phyllis shared a short talk on what they had learned about surviving—and thriving—over 50 years of marriage. It was an enlightening and inspiring presentation.

Afterward, there was wedding cake, dancing, and a joyful festive celebration. Marilyn and I were truly honored to be included among the guests and to witness this beautiful milestone after 50 years together.

Congratulations and much love to you both, Paul and Phyllis!
