In the fall of each year CMDA San Antonio hosts a weekend retreat for married and engaged couples in Fredericksburg, TX.  The retreat begins on a Saturday morning in November and ends the next day around noon.  The venue is the home of Randy and Marilyn Vanover.  Events include testimonies given by medical and dental couples, and each talk is followed by small group discussion.  Saturday afternoon is dedicated to "date time" in Fredericksburg, and Saturday evening includes a special meal, more testimonies and small group discussion, some "fire pit" time, S'mores, and a stay in a local hotel in Fredericksburg.  Sunday morning involves a panel discussion, communion, and a time to renew our wedding vows.  This event is a "favorite" among our medical, dental, and other professional student couples.  Make your reservations early!

There are several "Side by Side" groups meeting in San Antonio.  This special ministry of CMDA national is directed at women who are married to men within healthcare.  A non-medical spouse married to someone in healthcare often finds special challenges to their marriages.  These issues can be best addressed by others who have travelled this journey before.  Contact us to find a group which best fits your schedule and your needs.
